The southwestern stretch of the Atlantic Ocean known as the Patagonian Sea is one of the richest marine areas on Earth. Southern Right whales, albatross, sea lions, elephant seals, penguins, giant petrels, albatross, squids, and important commercial fish species inhabit the Patagonian marine ecosystem.
To challenge hazards such as pollution, over-fishing and destructive fishing and protect the Patagonian Sea’s unique ecosystem, many organizations have come together to form the Forum for the Conservation of the Patagonian Sea and Areas of Influence.
